*Reviewed and approved November 8 meeting minutes.
*Reviewed and approved treasurer's report. Current balance $16,141.67.
*SEAOH Board of Directors authorized transfer of monies in excess of $5,000 from convention checking account to the general checking account.
*Reviewed draft 2001 budget. The budget will be discussed and finalized during the next SEAOH Board of Directors meeting.
*SEAOH Board of Directors will instruct the Membership Committee to mail the remainder of the membership directories to members who have not yet received a copy of the directory.

*Received first announcement for Earthquake Engineering Research Institute Seventh U. S. National Conference on Earthquake Engineering to be held in Boston Massachusetts, July 21-25, 2002. *SEAOH Life Membership:

SEAOH Board of Directors unanimously approved the nomination of Al Zane, Harold Hamada, and Edgar Lee as SEAOH Life Members. The new SEAOH Life Members will be officially recognized during the upcoming 2001 SEAOH Installation Banquet.

*NCSEA Letter-Ballot Regarding Proposed By-Law Revisions:

SEAOH Board of Directors completed and returned Letter-Ballot to NCSEA.

*City & County of Honolulu Seismic Recommendation Letter:

Glenn Miyasato distributed draft copies of the recommendation letter to the SEAOH Board of Directors. He will incorporate the Board of Directors? comments, and send the final version of the letter to the City & County of Honolulu by the end of the year.

*Committees:

*Web Site – The Website Committee is finalizing the transfer of the SEAOH website from the present UH server to Lavanet. It is also developing a website member directory and e-mail notification system. As of January 1st, SEAOH?s new web address will be www.seaoh.org.
*Membership – Copies of the proposed membership renewal form were distributed to the SEAOH Board of Directors for review and comment. Comments on the proposed form should be sent to Vince Oue. Vince Oue will be stepping down, and effective January 1st Kelli Gooden will be the new Membership Committee Chairperson. Mahalo Vince for a great job!
*Structural Engineer of the Year – SEAOH Board of Directors approved the formation of an Ad Hoc committee chaired by Norman Nagamine to establish protocols, and recommend nominees for this award. The Ad Hoc committee will work closely with the SEAOH Board of Directors and will be composed of members who represent a cross-section of the membership. Norman has also agreed to chair the Ad Hoc committee for a two year period.
*2002 Convention – SEAOH Board of Directors voted in favor of the 2002 Convention Committee continuing planning towards having the 2002 annual convention in Japan.
*Golf Committee – SEAOH Golf Tournament was held on November 24th at Mililani Golf Course. The results of the tournament were as follows:
A Flight: 1st Place: Craig Sakanashi, 2nd Place: Paul Morimoto, 3rd Place: Brian Kung, Ron Iwamoto, Roy Burnett, & Will Chee.
B Flight: 1st Place: Steve Nakaoka & Garrek Koga, 3rd Place: Blake Higa.
Closest to the Pin: Craig Sakanashi, Ron Iwamoto, Rodney Yamamoto, Bryce Uyehara, & Steve Nakaoka.

*Next BOD meeting: will be at 11:45 am on Monday, January 8th at Dennis K. Hanatani, Inc.

2000 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

*02/02/01 – SEAOH Installation Banquet, Hawaii Prince Hotel. The keynote speaker will be Ms. Lyn Maunakea of the Institute for Human Services.
*08/04 & 05/2001 - SEAOH 2001 Annual Convention, Sheraton at Poipu Beach in Kauai (tentative).
