Building Code Committee
The State Building Code Council has accepted the 2012 International Building Code with amendments for the State of Hawaii Building Code. The council is currently working on writing the Hawaii Administrative Rules which is required to place the 2012 IBC as amended into effect. The SEAOH Building Code Committee worked hard on making this happen and continues to meet monthly. On the next code cycle including considering amendments to the 2012 International Residential Code which is not applicable to regions with high design wind speeds such as Hawaii.Find out more about the building code adoption process and current issues.
